Ageing of Crumb Rubber Modified Bituminous Binders under Real Service Conditions

Due to their environmental advantages, crumb rubber modified asphalt binders constitute an interesting alternative conventional for road surfaces of a more durable and sustainable nature. However, in practice, they remain less commonly used than polymer binders. This research aims study the real ageing during service lives when exposed various factors, including temperature gradients, presence water oxidation. To this end, was conducted on selection highways built with these located regions severe climatic traffic conditions. The from cores highway surface layers were recovered tested using DSR (Dynamic Shear Rheometer) determine evolution rheological parameters. Crumb studied comparison traditional bitumen. analysis complex modulus phase angle based frequency sweep tests, while elastic recovery, Jnr, L-Index T-Index assessed multiple stress creep recovery test. results obtained indicate that show similar parameters those bitumen, even under climate Furthermore, it observed that, at high temperatures, effect caused by life different laboratory through RTFO PAV tests.
